摘要：本调查以贵州省10所高职高专院校的76名英语老师为调查对象，就教师的教学、科研和专业发展状况进行了调查，研究发现：贵州省高职高专英语教师的学历和职称结构不甚合理，高学历和高职称的教师所占比例偏低，教师的工作量过大，科研意识淡薄，科研水平不高，各院校对英语教师专业发展重视与支持力度不够，师资培训和教研活动多数流于形式，英语教师的自主发展意识较为模糊，专业发展状况不容乐观。因此，教育主管部门和学校要高度重视英语教师专业发展的重要性，建立有利于教师专业发展的长效机制。为教师专业发展创造良好的外部环境；高职英语教师要增强自我发展意识，不断更新自己的知识结构，勤于反思，逐渐提高自身的专业素质和业务能力。

Abstract: This investigation has been carried out on 76 English teachers from 10 Vocational Colleges in Guizhou province Guizhou province.
