基于ONOS(开放式网络操作系统)的NAT应用开发是通过在ONOS系统上搭建一个虚拟的网络操作系统，搭建一个自己的网络拓扑图，通过控制器运行自己开发的NAT应用，控制器下发相应的流表给对应的虚拟交换机，虚拟交换机收到数据包之后进行流表项的匹配，根据相应的行为来对数据包进行操作。
本文着重讨论如何在ONOS这个在未来网络SDN中重要的控制上进行NAT应用的开发，ONOS是一个先出现的SDN的一款控制器，大量的APP都还没有开发，其中NAT应用的开发十分重要，这些工作是前人没有做过的。
