Using remote sensing technology to obtain the relationship between vegetation coverage and climate factors can provide reference for improving the ecological environment in the study area. The Xichang City in 2014 landsat8 images of of four quarter data based on, gain ground vegetation coverage, node contract period of meteorological data, from the space analysis of Xichang City, vegetation cover degree of response to climatic factors. Results show that Xichang City, vegetation cover degree is considerable, low vegetation coverage in first quarter to the third quarter decreased significantly, the high vegetation coverage to the fourth quarter of the overall increase in the second quarter; vegetation index change and the precipitation and temperature was positively related, the precipitation correlation coefficient reached more than 5200, were significantly or extremely significantly positive correlation, and temperature only in the third quarter was significantly and positively correlated. It shows that the vegetation growth climate factors in Xichang area are mainly precipitation, followed by temperature.
