2016年马来西亚接待国内游客量可达6680万人次，旅游业收入达457亿令吉（约合109亿美元），高于2015年接待国内游客量6370万人次和旅游业收入435亿令吉的水平。

米尔扎表示，由于马币下滑，希望2016年马来西亚接待国际游客量将大幅增加。
