通过对特定调查对象发放和回收大量问卷、到池州市内以及郊区农村中学分别进行实地考察、分别到池州市内和郊区农村中学对师生进行访谈、随后进行细致科学全面的数理统计、逻辑分析，且经过了深思熟虑的理智客观研究后深刻认识到——安徽省池州市当地学校，尤其是池州市内的中学和池州郊区农村中学体育教育若想取得可持续稳步快速发展，势必需要高素质的体育场地器材设施管理队伍和高效率的体育场地器材设施管理方法措施，从而使池州市中学体育场地器材设施管理工作发挥出更加强大的教育促进作用；从而使广大池州市中学学生能更积极的投入到体育锻炼和体育课程学习中去；从而从侧面支持和促进池州市学校体育教育教学工作效率的快速稳步提升。
为全面了解安徽省池州市——郊区农村中学和市内中学体育场地器材设施现状，本文重点选取了四所池州地区中学作为研究对象，即池州市郊区农村两所中学：大演中心学校和占大初级中学；池州市内两所中学：石台中学和石台第二中学作为重点研究对象，通过多种研究方法对池州市中学体育场地器材设施现状进行细致全面的调查分析，为安徽省池州市中学的体育场地器材设施的进一步发展完善提供参考依据。
研究结果表明：1、池州市中学体育场地器材利用效果并不充分；2、池州市中学体育场地器材配备情况的满意度偏低；3、池州市中学体育场地器材配备情况对教师教学具有很大影响；4、池州市中学体育场地器材配备情况对学生体育活动影响巨大。5、结论：池州市中学体育场地器材配备呈现明显城乡差距；池州市中学体育场地器材匮乏阻碍体育教学进步；池州市中学体育场地器材不足不利于学生素质发展。在此基础上，提出相应发展建议：1.组建池州市中学体育场地器材设施管理领导小组；2.完善池州市中学体育场地器材设施管理规章制度；3、规范池州市中学体育场地器材设施国标达标建设；4.加大池州市中学体育场地器材设施体育经费投入；5.充分发挥池州市中学体育场地器材设施积极作用；6.创新发掘池州市中学体育场地器材设施资源。
